Fall 2010

Last fall was super busy. I was still working as a designer at a finnish sportswear company Icepeak and at the same time writing VihreƤt Vaatteet blog, running the webstore and designing my own Nurmi label.

For the Nurmi collection there were only a few new items: a scarf, maxi dress and some jewelry, but all of these fit together with the previous collection. All in all I want to design the collections so that they always match with the older stuff. No need to revise everything!

One other project that I took part in was ReUse Republic. Together with eight other designers I made new garments from the surplus clothes from Kamppi shopping center. The cycle of trends and new collections is so fast that there’s loads of garments left unsold. The ReUse Republic could only restore tiny amount of all the surplus material, but that’s a start anyway! These are all made from surplus garments such as men’s shirts, women’s knits and leather gloves:
